How do you rent an apartment?

I'm 18 and live on the east coast. I just graduated high school and am planning on moving to the west coast (San Francisco Bay Area). Before you even question my finances, my bank account has over $100,000 in it. I don't have credit however. Since I cant exactly make constant trips to the landlords place or the apartment, how exactly do I get it if ill be on the other side of the country?
