My boyfriend booked an escort but didnt go is this normal or is he lying?

i found out my boyfriend was booking a nd talking to escorts when i looked through his history on his lap top. he didnt in any way try and wriggle out of it, he addmitted everything but said he only booked them he never showed up. He only ever asked them for oral never full sex. i feel broken inside i cant believe he has done it, is he lying or telling the truth?? i just dont know what to believe, why book it if he's not going to go, is that normal or is it a control thing??
