Do we have more entropy when we are alive or when we are dead?

On one hand people's behavior is unpredictable and can generate a great deal of chaos, however while we are alive we are in homeostasis which involves a number of intricate systems interacting in a particular way. Even we as people are expected to behave in a certain way in the context of society. When you are dead your energy dissipates without a discernible pattern. Maggots will ingest your flesh and wriggle off in some absurd pattern. Death could be thought of as a result of your body not being able to function at a certain level of entropy, eventually shutting down some of the intricate systems. The question is do we create more turbulence in the distribution of energy during our lives than overtakes us in death. Discuss.
