I'm thinking of going to Marseilles for a brief visit in autumn but have read several reports on tripadvisor virtualtourist and suchlike which paint the town as a vision of Hell itself you would seem lucky to escape from with your clothes still on. I am actually quite scared and don't think I could handle being wolfwhistled by louts, having my purse snatched and bottom pinched or being robbed of my passport. Should I just give up and not go or are these reports vastly exaggerated? Are there any areas I should really avoid? Any safe areas?

Problems staying hard?

Trying to finance vehicle from mother name into my name?

Ok, Im asking this for my bf. His mom financed his truck through her job's credit union in 2008 for 8500. Now she wants the truck out of her name, so he's been trying to find a way to finance it. He has a collection on his credit on something they signed off on together for $2300. He went to another credit union to try to get financing and they told him to pay the 2300 off then come back. The truck still has 3400 owed on it. And when he tries to get a loan this collection keeps popping up. I suggested he go to the credit union which his mother is with and try to see if they would be more leniant since the vehicle is already with them and his mother has worse credit(525) than him and was able to finance it. The credit union said something about using the equity in the vehicle. I'm unsure how this works so I'm trying to figure out for him, so he can get the truck in his name and make payments directly to them which would help his credit. Any info. Elastic waistband in skirt is dented—how to straighten it?

The waistband is about two inches wide and bends almost in half in the front which makes it stick out weird. I don't think an iron would help but I can't think of anything else to try. The imagery is straight forward, easy to follow. There is a bit of action and some indepth information without it seeming like an information dump though that is exactly what it is. You could show it in present tense but that would expand the passage a great deal, so if you have something else you want to get the reader to then this is a perfect way to give history and get us caught up so next the story should begin in present tense with showing rather than telling us what's been going on.

Why is my guinea pig still scared of me?

I have 2 male guinea pigs. Each about 1 1/2 years old. I got them a whole year ago. They still run from me when I get close to them. Reggie, the slightly bigger one, is most scared. The whole thing about rice is an old wives tale. Sitting in rice is no different than sitting anywhere else. What you really need is a warm breeze. Open it up and remove the battery and anything else removable. Leave it all open to the air. Get your hair dryer and place it a few feet away on a low setting to gently blow warm air in and around the guts. Remember, a GENTLE warm breeze is all you need, NOT a hurricane. Sitting in a bowl of rice restricts the air flow around the device and traps moisture in and around the electronics. Without air flow, the moisture will just SIT there! Inside! It has NO incentive to leave! THAT is what the warm air DOES, induce the water to evaporate! The warm breeze of the hair dryer is what you need to evaporate out the water, otherwise the water just SITS there, corroding everything made of metal. There is less than a 50-50 chance it will work. If regular tap water got inside, the minerals in the water will likely short out the electronics even after the water evaporates. Let it sit under the warm air for a day. Then, reassemble and try it. Charge the battery. it MAY survive. If not, there is more you can DO. After all, damage of this nature is probably NOT covered under your warranty. Check to be sure. If you are SURE is it NOT covered by warranty, you can try flushing it. Take out the battery and other removable parts. Use distilled water and literally give it a bath. The distilled water will dissolve out any minerals left behind from the tap water and dilute them so they probably no longer be a problem. After a bath in distilled water, alcohol. Rubbing alcohol comes in two strengths, 70% and 99%. You want the unscented 99% variety. Alcohol "soaks up" water, binding with it. Alcohol is the major ingredient in additives to gasoline to get water out of your gas tank. Alcohol also evaporates and will leave NO residue behind. So, the distilled water washes out the dried minerals, and the alcohol binds with the remaining water to help it evaporate from cracks and crevices. Shake and blow out as much liquid as you can and then try the dryer breeze again. I have had moderate success with this, roughly 1 in 3 were able to work again after disassembly and washing. But then, I have no fear since I do electronics repair for a living. The last thing I did this to was the remote for my TV which took a bath in soda... it resurrected successfully by the way, after being completely dead... Not as complex a device as your phone, but still the same principles apply, get the water and minerals out and see what happens after it dries completely. Rice will NOT do anything constructive. It MIGHT absorb some water vapor, but then so do soda crackers. You would do better to use silica gel, you know the stuff, the beads in a little plastic bag that comes in the box with many electronics items. At least silica gel is designed to absorb moisture. If rice worked, it would be MUCH cheaper to use rice instead of silica gel!

I don't have the greatest life living at home. I have a very nagging older sister who stayed home for university and she's in her 2nd year who keeps a watch on what ever I do (very annoying) and my parents argue a lot and I also have the smallest room possible. I live in a very small village north of Cardiff in a rural area (a place where you wake up to cows and chickens in the morning lol) and all my friends from school live at least 30mins away as I go to school in Llandaff which is in the middle of Cardiff so I have a very boring life too. I go to university next year and Im getting that question, should I stay home and safe my self the debt or go to university far enough from home that I will be able to move out. My parents want me to stay home over issues of finance. I've looked at what finance will be available though, living in Wales even if I move to England my fees will still be 3k a year, I want to go to Bristol and that will cost me about 5-6k a year for accommodation etc perhaps more depending on what happens with inflation and the economy. I've read that depending on household income if I decide to move away I should get a living grant of around 1 thousand a year. My parents joint income is around 35k so Im not sure if Im just out of that bracket. I know with the students loans I wont pay anything back until Im earning 21k but its still a loan and I got that nagging feeling do I really want to start my life with 20-30k of debt before I even have a mortgage etc.What do people reckon, I know my social life will be far better than living home but is it worth it? I've been deadlifting seriously for 2 years now. I started my freshmen year, I was about 130 pounds max dead around 300 when I started ( I did back exercises before this just never deadlifting or any type of deadlifting) I got 375 quickly and reached a platue. I did a lot of research and altered my workout and got to 425 its been about 8 months and I got 480 last week, and 500 on Monday. I want to get to 700. I feel like that's a strong deadlift. I'm 174 pounds and my question is! What kind of workout for I do? I hear two deadlift workouts a week can work? A speed day and a heavy day. Right now I go in the gym put 10 pounds over what I did last week (next week it will be 510, I keep settin a new max every week) and pull it once then do 3 sets on sumo's and three sets of snatch witgh 405. what else? What can be changed?

I have been having this pain in the left side of my back by where the ribs are for about 2 months and it hasn't gone away. It only happens when I run or jump I could lift weights (except for snatch because I have to jump I still do it but it hurts when I land on my feet) I first got it when we were doing powerjumps like if it was a layup in basketball after that exercise my back felt like it was cramping badly then it went away. It's been eight hours since its birth, and while its lungs are not as clogged, it's showed little effort in trying to suckle on Mom. Other than wriggling every now and again, he's been lying on his side most of the time, somewhat gaping for air; his inaudible cries sound mucuousy and squeaky as well. If these conditions do not change, will it die? I'd take the issue to the Vet, but they are asking for over 700 just to examine him. They offer little to no advice over the phone because, "We can't suggest anything unless we see him," while my local animal hospital is closed for the day.

I'm going to enter my fourth (and final) year in university majoring in Business Administration with an option in Finance. I am planning on applying to graduate schools in October/November for my Master of Finance degree, so I can get a finance-oriented job. However, there aren't many schools in the U.S (apart from Ivy League and Tier 1 schools) that have a Master of Finance degree? My university's business school is in the Top-45 in the country, however the school as a whole is pretty mediocre, meaning it will be really hard for me to get into those top level schools. I have two study abroads on my transcript for Spring 2011 and Summer 2011, but I don't know how far that will get me. I have also been researching business schools in the UK and Ireland and they seem to have a lot more Master of Finance programs than the US. My question is would it be more sensible for me to do my degree in the US or go abroad, once again, and get my M.Fin from an AACSB-accredited graduate school?

Relax,these things happen...watch your dog closely for the next day or so.For the most part, I think, the bones go through them and out the other side,no harm done.If your baby starts acting strange or seems uncomfortable take her to the vet.My dog has gotten a few chicken bones over the years and shes still kickin.I saw a dog once at the vets who had a bone caught up in him,he kept straining like he wanted to poo but nothing happened...he had surgery to remove it ,it was a rib bone.Once bones are cooked they become brittle,and break off in sharp pieces....I hope everything comes out OK...:-)

Okay so I am pretty darn mad right now !! Ok so at about 5 or 6 today, I went shopping at publix to get some quick groceries when I was in the frozen foods section and I had a perfect view of the lane right in front. There was the adorable six year old girl, who I later found out was named Caroline and her mother who seemed pretty full of herself checking out. Well, Caroline asked her mom if she could get a fish. So her mom said no and walked away. Caroline was upset and sat down on the ground right where she was and to my surprise the cashier and everyone behind hem just kept moving and didn't regard the child at all !! I'm like WTHeck ?!? So I left for like two minutes to get a cart and set some juice and came back to check on the child, and she was still there. So now it's been about 5 min since the whole incident happened. Well I went up to the child and introduced myself and showed her my daughter's pictures and tried to make her fell safe. So i took her and talked with her and we stood by the door. And waited a FULL ten. Minutes before her mother came back with a latte and a yogurt !! Then she came Up to me, GARED at me and snatched the choked away from my hand ! I was just completely appalled by this mother's actions and I just can't get over this. My husband thinks she's some crazy lunatic and doesn't need a child. I feel really bad for Caroline. What are your thought on this ?

Ipod touch earphones only working in one side?

I decided to listen to my ipod one day and realised that the headphone socket only works firmly in one ear (the right one) it does slightly work on the left but you have to wriggle the jack around and the slightest touch will knock it off. Fly keeps following me?

Okay heres what happened. This last night there was a small fruit fly in my room that kept going around my laptop screen on which I ignored it. Then this morning as I woke I saw it again. When I took my shower it followed me to the freakin bathroom. Aftter I got out of the shower and did my hair it was still there. A couple hours later when I was giving my lizard a bath, I found the fly on the bathtub siding. It had water around it and kept wriggling to get out. Stupid me decided to save it, so I picked it up and placed it on a towel. After about ten minutes it started to crawl around the towel slowly. So I took it over to my kitchen and again stupid me placed it on a flat surface in my kitchen. AND then as I went to the couch couple minutes later it started to fly around me. So I went to my room where I sat for a couple minutes and I found it crawling on my arm. Then brilliant me took it outside where it unwillingly got tooken off of me and I placed it on a rock. So far I haven't seen it, wtf happened? Why the hel was it following me!!!

I have one sick 6 week old chick.?

Im not sure whats wrong, she sometimes lays down and closes her eyes, her body is all poofed up. I haven't seen her eat or drink anything. She's been like this since yesterday morning, she even says in the box while the other chicks go out into the pin. They have medicated food, and plenty of water, so im not sure whats wrong with her. They've all be vaccinated and just to make sure she's not contagious I brought her in the house. 3 week old baby wont stop moving!?

My little girl just doesn't seem to stop moving. she constantly throws out her arms and kicks her legs and it even keeps her awake. i tried to swaddle her but she wriggled out of it (She hates to be confined) she wont even keep a loose blanket on. I wonder sometimes if it's wind cause she does seem to pass alot of gas but she doesnt cry about gas pains. Im just completly stumped by her behavior please any advice or suggestions welcome.

She should be fine as long as she has a water dish near by so she can replenish any moisture lost during the molt. If she was several days post-molt, moving her didn't cause any damage and sometimes we've had to move them immediately following a molt if they are stuck in it. Ours have always pulled through, if we could get them out fast enough. She may cast those legs off and regrow them and she should be able to still get around well enough to still hunt down her prey and eat. They don't need to eat much and if she does cast those legs, she'll probably push a molt faster to recover.

I can't cut my guinea pigs' nails?

I have two guinea pigs and always struggle to cut their nails. I have tried having one person cut, one hold; wrapping them in a towel; using a torch to see the bloodline better, but they seem to hate it and constantly wriggle away which means that sometimes they bleed - then we use a styptic stick. Is there any way to make it easier? We got our vet to do it the first time, but he was terrible and made them bleed even more, plus it was really expensive. My step-dad hit my baby sister?

First off I don't know who to tell so thats why im asking a bunch of random people... Anways I just walked into my house where my 1 year old baby sister and step-dad are. I don't think he heard me come him cause he was yelling. 14 weeks pregnant and a little nervous!?

im 14 wks + 1 day today, and im a little anxious b'cz i never suffered from morning sickness, infact i never actually was sick in the 1st trimester, just felt a little nauseous at times but usually i was gr8 (people say im lucky but it doesnt feel real that im pregnant cz i didnt have hardly any symptoms)...anyway i had my dating scan and they dated me at 11 weeks (it was meant to be 12 wk scan) anyway we saw h/beat and baby was wriggling and doing great :)...but b'coz i havent had symptoms im worried that everythin is still ok, i havent had any bad symptoms either- i have my next m/wife app next week so hopefully she will reaassure me. its my 1st pregnancy and i live in U.K so we only get dating scan and then 20 wk scan.i know im prob been over anxious about everythin but just wondering what you think? thanks x

3 week old baby suddenly fussy during feedings?

My 3 week old daughter is breastfed. She refuses bottles and pacifiers and formula, anything that isnt breast. She has been wonderful at breastfeeding and just the past two days, she has been fussy during feedings. She will drink for a minute or two, and as soon as the milk lets down and starts to flow at its strongest, she clamps down on my nipple, gets fussy and wriggles around. She will let go of my nipple and then cry, and reattach herself moments later and repeat the whole process for 2 hours. This happens mostly in the evenings. Any ideas as to what is going on?

For example, I took Alg 2 Junior year, and will be finishing it senior year. I stretched out my classes, because emotionally and mentally I had a hard freshman and sophomore year, but now I'm much better. I took Psychology this past year (my junior year) and it was amazing. By the way, our school does schedules every year, because of failing classes and things, so students HAVE to be able to edit their schedules to graduate.

Whats wrong with my Black Moor fish?

My beautiful Black Moor Goldfish can hardly move he just wriggles around on his side very slowly and then sinks back to the bottom. His lovely long tail is all torn and he has little white spots on his body. He is one of my first fish so i need help knowing whats wrong with him and what to do. without touching them or poking at them how do i know if the kits are being fed? the doe has already eaten 2 now,and 1 has died from wriggling too far from the nest and getting cold, but 3 or 4 are left and are wriggling around. they are almost 2 days old. but im wondering if they are being fed as i keep finding them a long way from the nest, could it be they arent getting fed? or maybe doe is seperating them off, or they were being fed and still attatched when she hopped out to feed herself? so many possibilities. would they live for long if they werent being fed?

Whys my belly button peircing sore?

so I got my belly button pierced roughly, 5-6 months ago & it's healed pretty nicely but occasionally I'll wake up & it feels very sore. Now, I have three piercings in each ear & I pierced my own nose & it turns out I have a tendency to pull my peircings out in my sleep & I've noticed I tug on it in my sleep. But I'll stay up all night sometimes & it'll still be sore & when I wriggle it, the bottom design will be stuck to the hole. Does anyone know why it's still sore?

HELP!! 4 year old behaviour issues?

My daughter will be 5 at the end of May. since she was about 2 my husband and i have had some problems with her behaviour. it has gradually got worse and this week has been the worst. she backchats, pulls faces, laughes at us, bullies her 2yr old brother, smashed things around my house. normally when i say no to something but it can b over something silly like not giving her the food she fancies when she hasnt even told me what she wants. she is in the reception class and was great for her first yr in school but things took a turn for the worst before xmas 2010. she doesnt listen to the teachers at all to the point they are having her hearing tested by the school nurse asap she laughs at the headteacher when she is told off my him, she refuses to participate in story time (sitting still on a mat while the teacher reads a story) she will not stand on the naughty spot in the yard, she pulled her best friends hair that a chunk came out, she jumps all over her friends and hugs n kisses strange children (someone she would have just met in the park minutes before) on tuesday she was sent to the naughty spot and wouldnt stay there and ran off and slapped her best friend across the face in front of a teacher, she has had screaming tantrums in school that she has been sick and they loose all control and she kicks on the floor so they cant get near her and if they try she will kick them, on thursday (yesterday) they were doing group play and she threw a rock which split someones head open!! and today she lay in the middle of the floor trying to trip all the children up. i know this is all bad behaviour but i am extremely worried because she doesnt seem to care about the things that she is doing. it has got very dangerous now tho, she will wriggle out of your grip and run across roads, jump from an 8ft slide and come down the stairs on her belly. we are petrified something is going to happen. she cannot be taken anywhere there are lots of people because she goes mad. she jumps everywhere and cant keep still for a moment. she doesnt stop talking and nagging. she has a brilliant appetite and will eat any fruit or veg at all. she is never given fizzy pop, sweets, crisps or chocolate. she goes to bed at 8pm and wakes at anytime after 3pm. this has only been for the last 2 years. she is constantly tired but denies this. i think most of her problems come from the fact that she is so tired but we have tried helping with the sleep along with the health visitor and sleep therapists but nothing is working. whatever dicipline we try, naughty step, time out, time in bedroom, taking away toys, shouting, nothing is working. we are desperate for help and to know is anyone else going through the same thing. the school have now got a behaviour officer involved but have said it could take months for her to be seen. i am not happy to just leave this drift for months because i am scared whatelse can happen. she is a lovely little girl and she has lots of cousins, aunties and uncles and everybody loves her to pieces but no one can understand why she is doing this. we are extremely desperate for help as she is so clever we dont want teachers writing her off as a "naughty" child and her falling behind. also her teacher said that she is now starting to isolate herself. does anybody have any ideas what could be wrong. we are starting a behaviour mangement programme run by the health visitors to hopefully get some tips.
